Sunday night plans in Madrid: a late dinner to stretch the weekend
Madrid tends to switch off early on a Sunday. Panthera opens from 20:30 to 03:30: dinner with DJs, cocktails and our latest closing time of the week.

If you want a Sunday night plan in Madrid that is not the sofa and a series, Panthera opens on Sundays from 20:30 to 03:30. It is our latest closing time of the week: you can have a relaxed dinner, order a cocktail with a DJ playing and stretch the weekend a few more hours, at Miguel Ángel 21 in Chamberí.
The trouble with Sunday night
Anyone who has lived in Madrid knows the feeling. On Sunday afternoon the city is still buzzing: terraces, vermouth, a stroll. But from nine o'clock a lot of people head home and plenty of kitchens close early. If you have visitors in town, if Monday is a day off or you just do not fancy the weekend ending at ten, the options shrink fast.
Our Sunday hours are built for exactly that. We open at 20:30, half an hour later than the rest of the week, and close at 03:30, later than on any other night. Panthera is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so Sunday is, in practice, the last night of our week.
| Day | Panthera opening hours |
|---|---|
| Wednesday & Thursday | 20:00 to 02:30 |
| Friday & Saturday | 20:00 to 03:00 |
| Sunday | 20:30 to 03:30 |
| Monday & Tuesday | Closed |
What a Sunday at Panthera looks like
Panthera is a Dinner and Dance restaurant: black panthers, low light, an international crowd and music that builds through the night. Dinner comes with live DJs and performances, and at midnight the tables turn into private celebration areas. Sunday follows the same formula, just a little more laid-back than Saturday.
For dinner, the menu mixes Nikkei, Mediterranean and Latin influences. Sharing works very well on a Sunday: tableside guacamole, a red prawn aguachile, a few nigiri and a chargrilled main such as the 20-day dry-aged entrecôte. Every dish is on the menu.
If you are only after a drink, there are signature cocktails and classics. The full list is on our cocktails page.
A few ideas for a Sunday: for something fresh, Welcome to the Jungle combines Bacardí Carta Blanca rum, passion fruit, mango, coconut and lemon. After dinner, the Espresso Martini 2.0 mixes Grey Goose vodka, chocolate, Kahlúa, cookie syrup, coffee and tonka bean. And to toast the weekend, try one of the Royal cocktails with Veuve Clicquot, such as the Bellini Panthera or the Kir Royal.
We are at Calle Miguel Ángel 21, in Chamberí. The nearest metro station is Gregorio Marañón, so it is easy to reach from almost anywhere in Madrid, Sundays included.

A full Sunday: from dinner to the small hours
If you want to plan the whole evening, here is one way to make the most of the night:
- At 20:30, dinner at Panthera. Arrive when we open if you want a quiet table and time to linger.
- At midnight, the room changes. The music goes up and tables switch to celebration mode.
- Until 03:30. It is our latest closing time of the week, so there is no rush to leave.
And if one Sunday is not enough, see our ideas for a midweek evening out.
