A different romantic dinner in Madrid: dine, toast and dance
A date in three acts: a sharing dinner, champagne cocktails and, at midnight, the dance floor. How to plan a different kind of romantic dinner at Panthera in Chamberí.

If you are looking for a different kind of romantic dinner in Madrid, try a date in three acts: a sharing dinner, a cocktail to toast with and, at midnight, dancing. At Panthera (Calle de Miguel Ángel 21, Chamberí) you can do it all without moving: cooking with Nikkei, Mediterranean and Latin influences, low lighting and a club with a DJ from 00:00.
Why a date that ends on the dance floor
The classic romantic dinner has one flaw: it ends with the bill. Tablecloth, candles, dessert and home, or a hunt for a bar that is still open nearby. A date with dinner and dancing changes the pace. You start seated, talking and sharing plates; the music gradually takes over, and when midnight arrives you can get up and dance without stepping outside. Watching the room change around you is half the fun. And if you are not big on dancing, that works too: the table is still yours after midnight, so you can linger over a last cocktail and simply enjoy the shift in mood.
Panthera has the setting for it: black panthers in the decor, low lighting, live DJs and shows during dinner, and a very international crowd. It features on Time Out's list of the best dinner shows in Madrid, published in January 2026.
What to order for two
- To start: the Sorlut No. 2 oyster with house-made ponzu and citrus caviar, or the sea bass tiradito with yellow chilli tiger's milk. Fresh and light, to ease into the evening.
- To share by hand: a couple of nigiri, such as the scallop with melted cheese or the red prawn with its grilled head.
- If there is something to celebrate: the wagyu carpaccio with lobster, sea urchin roe and caviar.
- The main: grilled sea bass with a fresh herb sauce, which is made for two. If you prefer meat, the 20-day dry-aged Discarlux entrecôte.
- Dessert, shared: grilled strawberries with a sherry reduction and yoghurt ice cream, or the warm chocolate tart with olive oil and sea salt.
The idea is to order a little and order well, in two or three rounds, so you do not reach midnight feeling you have eaten too much. Sharing plates is also a conversation in itself: each of you picks one and the other gets to try it. Every dish is on the menu. If either of you has allergies, there is an allergen menu.

Cocktails for the toast
For a date, the Royal cocktails are the natural choice: all three are made with Veuve Clicquot. The Bellini Panthera, with peach purée and liqueur; the Kir Royal, with cassis; and La Panthera Mimosa, with orange juice and Cointreau. If you want something less classic, the Four Seasons Spritz brings together Martini Fiero, rum, grapefruit and a splash of Veuve Clicquot Brut, and the Porn Star 2.0 mixes Grey Goose, passion fruit, lime and champagne and cherry syrup. With dessert, an Espresso Martini 2.0. The full list is on cocktails.
How to plan the night
- Pick the day. Panthera is open Wednesday to Sunday; it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Sunday is the latest night, until 03:30.
- Book and mention it. Book online or on WhatsApp at +34 689 879 114 and say it is a special occasion: an anniversary, a surprise, an important first date.
- Arrive in good time. Sitting down around 21:00 gives you time to enjoy dinner before midnight.
- Let the night decide. At 00:00 the room becomes a club and your table becomes a private celebration area. We explain it in what the Bottle Club is.
If you want to make a night of it
There is no need to go anywhere else: the table stays yours until closing, at 02:30, 03:00 or 03:30 depending on the day. And if you still fancy a change of scene, there are ideas in our Madrid night-out plan with dinner and drinks.
