Flamenco dinner or Dinner and Dance in Madrid? How to choose your night
A classic tablao or a restaurant that ends on the dance floor: what each kind of Madrid dinner show offers and which one suits your plans.
Published 9 July 2026 · Panthera Madrid
Choosing between a flamenco dinner and Dinner and Dance in Madrid comes down to what you want to do after dessert. At a tablao such as Corral de la Morería or Café de Chinitas you dine while watching a performance; at Panthera you dine with live DJs and the night ends on the dance floor in the same room.
Two kinds of dinner show
Madrid has a long tradition of dinner shows, and in recent years a newer format has joined it. To keep it simple, there are two broad families. In the first, the show is the centrepiece: you sit, eat and watch. In the second, the music comes with dinner and gradually turns into a party. Neither is better. They are simply different nights out.
The flamenco tablao: dinner facing the stage
If it is your first time in Madrid or you have visitors keen to see flamenco, two historic venues are worth knowing:
- [Corral de la Morería](https://www.corraldelamoreria.com/restaurante/), at Calle Morería 17, by La Latina. A tablao dating from 1956 and the only one in the world with a Michelin star, held by its Gastronómico restaurant since 2018.
- [Café de Chinitas](https://www.chinitas.com/en/home/), at Calle Torija 7, near the Royal Opera. A restaurant and tablao opened in 1970 inside an 18th-century palace.
It is a plan that asks for your full attention: the dance, the singing and the guitar lead, and the evening revolves around the performance. Ideal for a first visit, a cultural occasion or anyone who wants to see flamenco up close.

Dinner and Dance: dinner that ends on the dance floor
Panthera, at Miguel Ángel 21 in Chamberí, is a Dinner and Dance restaurant. You dine with live DJs and performances among black panthers and low light, and at midnight the tables turn into private celebration areas. There is no moment when you have to move on: the party comes to your table. Time Out included it in its list of Madrid dinner shows in January 2026.
The menu has Nikkei, Mediterranean and Latin influences, with sharing plates such as red prawn aguachile or the dry-aged chargrilled entrecôte. See the menu and check what is on each week in what's on.
The cocktails are part of the plan too: signatures and classics that go with dinner and carry on when the room changes pace at midnight.

If you are still unsure, these questions help you decide:
- Do you want to watch or join in? If you would rather sit back and watch a show, go for a tablao. If you want the night to build, go for Dinner and Dance.
- Is anyone visiting Madrid for the first time? A historic tablao is a great introduction to the city.
- Is it a celebration? Birthdays and hen or stag dos usually suit a format that ends in a party.
- How late do you want to stay out? Panthera is open until 02:30 on Wednesday and Thursday, 03:00 on Friday and Saturday and 03:30 on Sunday.
- Are you a big group? Panthera offers a personalised menu from 10 guests.
What if you want both? Our suggestion is to spread them over two nights: one for flamenco, taken slowly, and another for dinner and dancing. If you are wondering what to wear for either, read what to wear for dinner and a night out in Madrid.
